Neuromodulator Treatments in Regina

The Science
Neuromodulators are administered in selected muscles using a fine needle. They act at the neuromuscular junction to temporarily reduce muscle activity. Product selection, placement, dose, expected onset, and duration depend on the treatment plan and individual response. Your injector will review what may reasonably be expected, along with material risks and alternatives, before treatment.
Your consultation includes a discussion of how much movement you would like to retain and what changes may be possible for your anatomy. Individual response varies, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed. Temporary asymmetry, unwanted muscle weakness, or eyelid or brow ptosis may occur. Conservative treatment planning and follow-up allow your injector to reassess your response and discuss any concerns.

Neuromodulator dosing is individualized. Different treatment areas and muscle patterns can require different numbers of units, so the total treatment cost is determined only after your injector assesses your anatomy, goals, and treatment suitability.

Looking for medical rather than cosmetic treatment? Skin Diva offers medical neuromodulator assessments and treatments performed by our Nurse Practitioner (NP). Consultations address chronic migraine concerns, excessive underarm sweating, and TMJ-related jaw tension or bruxism. Treatment is offered only when clinically appropriate following an individual assessment.
Our NP reviews your headache pattern, frequency, medical history, medications, and previous treatments. Not every headache or migraine is suitable for injectable treatment. Your assessment determines whether medical neuromodulator treatment, other care, or referral is appropriate.
Hyperhidrosis means excessive sweating. Our medical sweating consultations focus exclusively on the underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis). Our NP assesses how sweating affects daily life, possible underlying causes, and treatments already tried before recommending next steps.
Bruxism refers to teeth grinding or clenching. Our NP assesses jaw-muscle activity, symptoms, and your medical and dental history. Treatment does not correct every joint or bite problem, and dental evaluation or other care may be recommended.
Product indications differ. Your NP will explain applicable Health Canada labelling and any proposed off-label use, along with risks, alternatives, expected timing, and follow-up. Suitability, dose, and total medical treatment cost are confirmed at your assessment; insurance coverage is not guaranteed. Results vary and treatment is not a cure.

TMJ Treatment Information
Jaw discomfort, clenching, grinding, and temporomandibular joint symptoms can have several causes. When overactivity of muscles such as the masseters contributes to a person’s concerns, a prescription neuromodulator may be considered as one part of an individualized treatment plan.
Your consultation reviews your symptoms, dental and health history, medications, previous diagnoses or treatments, jaw movement, muscle activity, and treatment goals. Neuromodulator treatment does not correct every cause of TMJ symptoms or structural joint and dental concerns. Your provider may recommend assessment by a dentist, physician, or another qualified clinician when appropriate.

Possible effects include tenderness, bruising, chewing fatigue or weakness, asymmetry, changes in smile or lower-face contour, and unintended muscle weakness.
