Please review these general guidelines to help prepare for your treatment and support your skin afterward.Personalized instructions provided by your Skin Diva professional always take priority.
Before your visit
- Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning for a few days prior to treatment.
- Ask your provider which non-prescription retinoids, strong exfoliants, or other active skincare products to pause before your visit.
- Men should avoid shaving the treatment area the morning of the appointment to prevent irritation.
- Please disclose all current medications and health conditions during your consultation. Do not stop or pause a prescription medication unless the clinician who prescribed it has told you to do so. Ask your Skin Diva provider which non-prescription skincare products to pause.
After your visit
- Avoid direct sun exposure and apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily.
- Delay applying makeup for the rest of the day, if possible, to allow serums to fully absorb.
- Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for 24 hours after treatment.
- Pause non-prescription exfoliating products and retinoids for the period recommended by your provider.
Expected temporary reactions
HydraFacial is gentle and typically has no downtime. You may experience slight, temporary pinkness immediately following the treatment, which usually fades within an hour, leaving a hydrated glow.

If you experience unexpected, severe, or worsening symptoms — such as intense pain, significant swelling, or signs of infection — please contact our clinic immediately. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, seek urgent medical care.
